One Nation Under God.
Everyday, in grade school, we would recite the “pledge of allegiance”. We would stand, place our hand over our hearts and pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands. One nation, under GOD, indivisible, with Liberty and justice for all.
That meant a lot to me as a kid in grade school, but it was not until I became an adult that I realized what I was saying.
I always knew that we were One Nation, under God; but I was challenged by the words “with liberty and justice for all!” . . .
